According to the EPFO, it is compulsory for the employees to link their UAN with Aadhaar in order to continue using services and having access to EPF. The EPFO has made arrangements for all Indian employees to monitor their PF accounts online. The employees can either search up EPFO’s official web page or utilize the UMANG app in order to link Aadhaar to their EPF account online.
Process To Link PF Account To Aadhaar
In order to link Aadhaar to PF Account online through the UAN members portal, EPF members must follow the steps mentioned below:
Step 1: First of all open the UAN member’s website https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/
Step 2: Now enter the UAN member’s id, password, and fill in the captcha code shown on the screen to sign in to the portal
Step 3: Click on “Manage” and from the drop-down menu select “KYC“
Step 4: A new page will open where you can link Aadhaar to PF account
Step 5: Click on “Aadhaar“, Enter your Aadhaar number and name as printed on your Aadhaar card, and click the “Save” button.
Step 6: The Aadhaar of the candidate will be confirmed from UIDAI’s data only when the Aadhaar details have been saved.
Step 7: Once the KYC is approved, the candidate will be able to link their Aadhaar to a PF account, and “Verified” will be written next to the Aadhaar details.
How To Link Aadhaar To UAN Through UMANG App
UMANG, which stands for Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance), is a mobile app that promotes Mobile Governance. It was launched by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the National e-Governance Division (NeGD). According to the EPFO, it is compulsory for the employees to link their UAN ( Universal Account Number) with Aadhaar in order to continue using services and having access to EPF. Given below are steps that one needs to follow:
- The candidate can log in to the UMANG app in two ways. First, while using “MPIN” (Marketing Partner Identification Number); second, while using the given OTP sent to the registered cellphone number.
- From “All Services Tab”, select and click on “EPFO”.
- From the “EPFO” section, select and click on “e-KYC services”.
- Next, click the “Aadhaar Seeding” option from “e-KYC services”.
- Then, the candidate must select “Get OTP” after entering his/her UAN.
- An OTP will be sent to the registered cell phone number along with the EPF Account.
- The candidate, then, must enter his/her Aadhaar information.
- Once again, an OTP will be sent, but this time it will be sent both to the registered cellphone number as well as the email ID.
- The candidate will have his/her Aadhaar linked to UAN after the OTP verification is completed.
How To Know If Aadhaar is Linked to PF Account?
You must carry out the steps listed below in order to determine whether your Aadhaar number is linked to your PF Account:
- Open the website – https://unifiedportalmem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/
- To login, the candidate must enter their UAN and password.
- Once the Member homepage opens, click on “Aadhaar“.
- Your Aadhaar is linked to your PF account UIDAI verified only when it is shown “Verified (DEMOGRAPHIC)” next to the Aadhaar number.
