Introduction: The eagerly awaited UGC NET Result for the December 2023 session is set to be announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) today, January 18. The release date was initially scheduled for January 17, 2024, but no official updates have been provided by the NTA regarding the delay. This article provides a comprehensive overview of the UGC NET examination, the delay in result announcement, and the anticipation surrounding the release.

UGC NET December 2023 Examination: The UGC NET December 2023 examination, conducted by the NTA, spanned from December 6 to December 19, covering 83 subjects in 292 cities across India. A staggering total of 9,45,918 candidates participated in the examination, making it one of the largest national-level eligibility tests.

Result Announcement Delay: Despite the official release date being January 17, 2024, candidates are yet to receive their results, and the NTA has not communicated any updated information regarding the new release date. The delay has left candidates anxious and eager for the outcome of their performance in this highly competitive examination.

Marking Scheme: The UGC NET December 2023 examination follows a marking scheme where each question carries two marks. Candidates earn two marks for each correct response, and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers. Unanswered or unattempted questions also do not receive any marks.

Normalization Procedure: For multi-shift papers, raw marks obtained by candidates in different shifts will be converted to NTA Score (percentile). The detailed procedure for normalization based on percentile score is available on the NTA website. In case of dissimilar percentiles for multi-shifts, the lowest will be the eligibility cut-off for that category for all candidates.

How to Check UGC NET Result: Candidates can check their UGC NET Result by visiting the official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. On the homepage, they need to click on the result link, enter their login details, and their result will be displayed on the screen. It is advised to check the results and take a printout for future reference.

Other Important Information:

  • The UGC NET examination is held twice a year, in June and December.
  • No re-evaluation/re-checking of results is allowed, and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
  • Along with the results, the NTA is expected to announce the cut-off marks for all subjects.
  • The provisional answer key was released on January 3, and the objection window closed on January 5, 2024.

Conclusion: As candidates eagerly await the UGC NET December 2023 results, the delay in the announcement has only heightened the anticipation. The article provides insights into the examination process, the marking scheme, and the normalization procedure, ensuring candidates are well-informed about what to expect. As the NTA gears up to unveil the results, candidates continue to check the official websites for the much-anticipated outcome of their hard work and dedication.
