CTET 2024 Notification

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the notification for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) scheduled to take place in January 2024. The notification is available on the official website, ctet.nic.in. If you’re interested in appearing for this important teaching eligibility exam, here are the key details you need to know.

CTET January 2024 Important Dates:

  • CTET January Notification Date: 3rd November 2023
  • CTET Application Starting Date 2024: 3rd November 2023
  • CTET Application Last Date 2024: 23rd November 2023
  • Last date for submission of application fee: 28th November 2023
  • Application Form Correction Window: 28th Nov to 02 Dec 2023
  • CTET Exam Date 2024: 21st January 2024
  • CTET Exam Result Date 2024: February 2024

Exam Details:

  • CBSE conducted the December Exam on 21st January 2024. Paper 1 was held from 09:30 AM to 12:00 NOON, while Paper 2 was conducted from 02:00 PM to 04:30 PM. Paper 1 is for primary teachers who teach classes 1-5, and Paper 2 is for upper primary teachers responsible for classes 6-8. The mode of the exam will be offline.

CTET January 2024 How to Apply

To apply for the CTET January 2024 exam, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official website ctet.nic.in.
  2. Click on the ‘Apply for CTET-Jan2024’ link on the homepage.
  3. If you are a new user, click on the “New Registration” button and register yourself by providing your basic details such as name, date of birth, email address, and mobile number.
  4. If you are an existing user, log in using your registration number and password.
  5. Fill the application form carefully, providing all the required information, including personal details, educational qualifications, teaching experience, and category.
  6. Upload scanned copies of your required documents, including your photograph and signature.
  7. Pay the application fee online using debit card, credit card, or net banking.
  8. Review all the details you have entered, make corrections if required, and then submit your application form.
  9. Download and take a print out of the application form for future reference.

CTET Jan Application Fee:

  • Gen/OBC (NCL) candidates appearing in Paper 1: Rs. 1000/-
  • Gen/OBC (NCL) candidates appearing in both Paper 1 and Paper 2: Rs. 1200/-
  • SC/ST/Diff-Able Person candidates appearing in Paper 1: Rs. 500/-
  • SC/ST/Diff-Able Person candidates appearing in both Paper 1 and Paper 2: Rs. 600/-

CTET 2024 Admit Card: Candidates are required to download the e-Admit Card from the CTET official website in preparation for the exam. The admit card will be released in the first week of January.

Eligibility: The minimum qualifications for appearing in the CTET are as specified by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). You can find detailed eligibility conditions on the NCTE website at https://ncte.gov.in.

For Paper 1 (Classes 1 to 5) – Primary Stage, candidates should have one of the following qualifications:

  • Passed or pursuing the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (with a minimum of 50% marks) from a recognized University/Institution.
  • 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (with a minimum of 45% marks).
  • 4 years of a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) from a recognized University/Institution (with at least 50% marks).
  • 2 years Diploma in Special Education (with at least 50% marks) from a recognized University/Institution.

Validity of CTET Certificate: The CTET qualifying certificate is valid for a lifetime, and there’s no restriction on the number of attempts a person can make to acquire it. Candidates who have qualified CTET may also appear again to improve their scores.
